Privacy Policy

Welcome to DoWork, a task management and productivity app developed by Apphara. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use DoWork, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

By installing or using DoWork, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the app.

1. Information We Collect

DoWork is designed with a local-first architecture. Almost all data you create stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

A. Data You Create (stored locally on your device)

Tasks — titles, descriptions, due dates, due times, priorities, statuses
Projects and Kanban boards
Recurring task configurations
Tags and time estimates
Reminder / alarm preferences
App settings (theme, language, daily reminder time)

    All task and project data is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device
    using Android Room. We do not operate a backend server, and this data is
    never uploaded to us.
  

B. Data Collected by Third-Party Services

DoWork integrates the following third-party SDKs that may collect certain information automatically:

Google AdMob — used to display native banner ads and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers (Advertising ID), IP address, crash logs, and usage data to serve and measure ads. Users who purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade will no longer be shown ads.
Google Play Billing — used to process the optional one-time in-app purchase to remove ads ("DoWork Pro"). Payment and transaction data is handled entirely by Google Play; we do not receive or store payment card details.
Android Backup Service — Android's built-in backup mechanism may back up app data to your Google account per the rules defined in our backup configuration. This is controlled by your device's Google account backup settings.

2. Permissions Explained

DoWork requests the following Android permissions. We request only what is strictly necessary for core functionality.

Permission	Why It Is Needed
`INTERNET`	Required to load Google AdMob advertisements (native and interstitial ads). No personal data from your tasks is sent over the internet by DoWork itself.
`SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM`	Allows DoWork to fire task reminder notifications at the exact time you set. Android requires this permission for precise alarm scheduling on API 31+.
`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`	Required on Android 13+ to display task reminders and daily summary notifications in the system notification tray.
`RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`	Allows DoWork to automatically re-register your scheduled task reminders after the device is restarted. Without this, all alarms would be lost on reboot.
`WAKE_LOCK`	Briefly keeps the CPU awake when a reminder alarm fires so the notification is delivered reliably, even when the screen is off.
`REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS`	Allows DoWork to request exemption from Android's battery optimization, ensuring that scheduled reminders are not silently deferred or cancelled by the system. You can revoke this in your device's Battery settings at any time.

3. How We Use Information

To provide core app functionality — creating, editing, and managing your tasks and projects
To deliver task reminder notifications at your specified times
To send a configurable daily summary notification
To display advertisements through Google AdMob (free tier only)
To process your optional in-app purchase via Google Play Billing
To restore your reminders automatically after device reboot

We do not use your data for profiling, sell it to third parties, or share it with any party other than the service providers listed above.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

Google AdMob / Google LLC — Ad network SDK collects advertising data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Play / Google LLC — In-app purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. See Google Play Terms of Service.
Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Apphara, our users, or the public.

5. Advertising & Ad Personalization

DoWork (free version) displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID and other signals to show personalized or contextual ads.

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings:
Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
Purchasing DoWork Pro (Remove Ads) disables all AdMob ads within the app.

AdMob's data practices are governed by Google AdMob's Privacy & Terms.

6. Data Retention

All task and project data you create is stored locally on your device until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling DoWork removes the local database and all associated data (unless backed up by Android's backup service to your Google account).

We do not retain any copies of your task data on external servers because we do not collect or transmit it.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored in a private SQLite database on your device protected by Android's application sandboxing. Other apps cannot access DoWork's database without root access.

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock to further protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

DoWork is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us at appharatech@gmail.com so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Access & deletion — All your data is on your device. You can view, edit, or delete any task or project directly within the app, or uninstall DoWork to remove all locally stored data.
Notifications — You can disable task reminder notifications at any time in your device's notification settings or within the DoWork Settings screen.
Battery optimization — You can revoke the battery optimization exemption in Settings → Battery → App battery usage → DoWork.
Ad personalization — Opt out via your device's Google settings or upgrade to DoWork Pro to remove all ads.
Backup — You can disable Android's app data backup for DoWork in Settings → Google → Backup.

10. Third-Party Links & Services

DoWork may contain links or integrations to third-party services (e.g., Google Play Store, AdMob). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of DoWork after a revised policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
